Sypherlink named finalist for three technology awards

Awards sponsored by Columbus Technology Council 

Dublin, OH, Dec. 30, 2003 -- Sypherlink, a leading technology firm that enables information sharing across multiple data sources and provides information access controls, has been named a finalist for three of the Columbus Technology Council (CTC) 2003 Top Contributors to the Advancement of Technology (Top CAT) Awards.

Each year, the awards recognize individuals, teams of individuals, corporations and partnerships on the basis of their technological and/or scientific significance, economic impact, and societal benefits in helping to build a strong technological community in Central Ohio.

"Columbus has a thriving technology community that includes many excellent companies and offerings," said James Paat, Sypherlink President and CEO, as well as a finalist in the Top CAT Executive of the Year category. "It is a great honor to be nominated for these awards."

Sypherlink is also finalist in the categories of Product or Service of the Year and Inventor of the Year for Sypherlink: Harvester. Harvester is a suite of tools that utilizes a patent-pending technology to improve time, cost and quality metrics of any data-sharing initiative. The criteria for each category are as follows:

• Product or Service of the Year - Uniqueness/innovativeness, business impact, societal impact, useful/practical, benefits humankind, new entries relative to the half-life of technology
• Inventor of the Year - Patent awarded or patent/copyright protected, business impact/commercial potential, local economy impact, useful/practical, benefits humankind
• Executive of the Year (small business) - Successful executive, leadership, ongoing business success, community leadership and impact, promotes technology (new and better way)

Those nominated must operate within a 50-mile radius of Columbus. The awards will be presented at the Awards Banquet, Jan. 22 at the Hilton at Easton Towne Centre.
