Sypherlink and COPLINK® Partner To Speed Access to Law Enforcement Data

NEW ORLEANS, La., and DUBLIN, Ohio, October 25, 2007 -- Sypherlink, an information-management-software company with proprietary data-integration technology for law enforcement, and Knowledge Computing Corp.’s COPLINK® – the leading end-to-end tactical analytics and lead generation solution for fighting crime and terrorism – announced today a strategic partnership to target and make their solutions available to law enforcement agencies for information sharing initiatives.

"This partnership provides law enforcement agencies with a turnkey implementation solution that encompasses the critical discovery, mapping and data-loading tasks required for every application implementation," said Sypherlink CEO James Paat, at the 114th International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) conference in New Orleans.

"Joint customers will be able to leverage our NIE Gateway solution, which provides patented discovery and mapping technology, NIEM-conformant methodology and pre-built interfaces to several leading law enforcement records management systems," Paat continued.

In addition, he said, "Sypherlink also provides managed services, domain expertise and validation services to ensure that all agency data, regardless of the initiating source and format, adhere to the structure and format required by COPLINK."

"We’re pleased to add Sypherlink as a partner because it will facilitate rapid turnkey delivery of our solutions to shared clients," said Robert Griffin, CEO of Knowledge Computing Corp. "This partnership further advances the company’s aim to deliver client-driven solutions while working cooperatively with other vendors to meet interoperability demands."

Griffin added, "We look forward to formally including Sypherlink in the COPLINK Interoperability Certified Partner Program upon the successful completion of our first joint client deployment."

Paat noted that Sypherlink and COPLINK began working together when they were selected – along with systems integrator Keane, Inc. – to support Florida’s Regional Law Enforcement Exchange (R-LEX) initiative, a program that will accelerate the sharing of critical information across more than 160 law enforcement agencies throughout that state. When completed, the initiative will be the first in the nation to incorporate both NIEM and Law Enforcement Information Sharing Program (LEISP) Exchange Specifications (LEXS) at the state level.

He said that R-LEX will be accessible to authorized law enforcement investigators, detectives, line officers and crime analysts throughout the state and will be used for law enforcement purposes only. The FDLE, 11 select state criminal justice agencies, and three Florida domestic security task force regions will contribute such data as traffic citations, pawn data, dispatch records, local warrants, and offense reports from a total of 160 sources.
