U.S. Department of Education awards Sypherlink

Purchases Sypherlink: Harvester suite to accelerate data-sharing initiatives

Dublin, OH, Jan. 12, 2004 -- The United States Department of Education (DoED) has awarded a contract to Sypherlink, a leading technology firm that enables information sharing across multiple data sources. DoED will leverage the Sypherlink: Harvester Software Suite to accelerate its enterprise architecture initiatives. The contract also includes Sypherlink professional services.

Prior to winning the contract, DoED evaluated Sypherlink's technology. During the evaluation, DoED used Harvester to complete the metadata discovery, analysis and mapping of 17 data sources - originally estimated to require several months - in 52 hours.

"We are excited to be working with the U.S. Department of Education, and to have our unique technology validated through this award," said James Paat, Sypherlink President and CEO. "Harvester will enable DoED to significantly reduce the time and cost required to complete this important initiative."

Sypherlink's unique solutions automate the metadata discovery, analysis and mapping process, which will help DoED to understand what data is available and where it can be found across multiple enterprise systems. The Harvester suite also provides quick and efficient access, through a virtually centralized database, to data that resides across multiple disparate systems and ensures that the quality and integrity of data is appropriately managed and represented.
