Senior Data Analyst/Senior Data Conversion Specialist

Position Responsibilities:

• Restoration of database backups from SQL Server 2005/2000, Oracle 8i/9i/10g/11g, or DB2 8.1/9.5.
• Analysis of database tables as they relate to a data warehouse model and determination of likely inter-database relationships.
• Assess the quality and consistency of data stored in a source database and develop recommendations for data cleansing based upon data warehouse business rules.
• Prepare a Data Quality Report which documents findings regarding the database analysis work performed.
• Create mapping definitions for database interrelationships (to the data warehouse model) recommended and confirmed.
• Verification of the quality of overall processing of data conversion steps developed by a team of data analysts and ETL developers.

Minimum Requirements for Position:

• B.S. in Computer Science, Systems Analysis or similar degree.
• At least 5 years experience in database analysis and conversion projects in which one or more data sources were mapped and/or converted to a central data warehouse.
• At least 5 years experience directly working with database technologies such as Oracle 9i/10g/11g, SQL Server 2000/2005 or DB2 8.1/9.5 and related administration tools. Knowledge of respective SQL to define and manipulate database structures is required.
• Working knowledge of database extract, transformation and load (ETL) technologies such as Informatica or SQL Server Integration Services is a big plus.
• ETL – Experience with ETL and Data load management.
• Performance tuning – Experience with performance tuning of queries using compression, aggregation and partitioning etc.
• Experience writing stored procedures and triggers is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal skills required.
• U.S. Citizenship is desired.
• Familiarity with the domain of law enforcement and related systems is desired.
